Fresh off the hoop-

Once again, I have little to report on the crafty front. I finished the embroidery for a friend's daughter's apron over the weekend. I am still trying to get the hang of this split stitch stuff and my needlework always seems to come out a bit rustic. Anyway, I am going to sew up the apron and deliver it an hour away sometime between finishing my current brief, starting another one, and leaving for Nebraska Saturday morning. Nothing like a few deadlines to get me moving.

In holiday shopping news (we are all about the imaginary War on Christmas here - I'm going to wish everyone Happy Holidays out of spite) I picked up a pair of child size knitting needles and a bargain copy of Kids Knitting for my almost 8-year-old. He has shown no more than a mild interest in the knitting, but it could be that he just never had cat face knitting needles to get him motivated, right? I know, wishful thinking, but it would help with his small motor skills if he gave it a go. I'm going to be very nonchalant about the whole thing. If he isn't into it, then I get to add the new knitting book and size 8 kitty face needles to my collection - either way I win. Now that's my kind of gift!
