On the Go Harry

"Did you say my name?"

During this non-crafting interlude while I try to get all my December work projects done before school gets out, I still feel the obligation to post in my craftblog. This presents a problem as I have no crafts to post about at the moment. So, today we are going to have a look at the adopted child in the house, "On the Go Harry".

My then soon-to-be-husband and I got Harry from my father who picked him out for us from the breeder. These particular breeders (unlike most of them, I believe) got their own dogs back after their racing careers were finished. We brought Harry home and taught him how to walk up the stairs, not to walk through sliding glass doors, and the importance of a couch in a dog's life. Luckily, we were able to circumvent the usually strict rules for adopting greyhounds (no small children, no unfenced yards, etc.) or else we STILL wouldn't be qualified to own one after almost a decade.

"Maybe if I keep ignoring them, they'll go away."

It should be noted that I have always heard the rule about no small children is to protect the dog - not the children. Usually Harry pretends the children aren't there, or just leaves in a hurry if he is the recipient of any unwanted toddler attention.

So, there's a brief introduction to "On the Go Harry," the racing greyhound who wasn't so good at racing, but found a happy home and couch of his own.
