Get me away from the Paparazzi!

Here's Jack trying to get to school and out of the house this morning. I was driving him crazy trying to get a picture of him in this hat. I made the hat with the leftover yarn from his stripey Rowan baby blanket. The pattern is from Debbie Bliss, her Learn to Knit book, maybe? I've made it many different times, but this one came out the best. I finally figured out how to maneuver the 5 dpns without letting the stitches get too loose.

I was about to type that my very first pecan pie was in the oven when I remembered I should go check on it as our oven is a bit iffy. Oops, it is an uneven, puffy sort of pie and very much done. It is the type of failed baking project Martha Stewart would place directly into the nearest trash receptacle. Not me, though, I worked hard for this lopsided baby.

Aren't you glad you are not coming to Thanksgiving at my house?
