Thanksgiving in Review

I cheated a bit and picked the quickest to finish project to work on this weekend just so I would have the pleasure of completing it. Anyway, these are the Reynolds Andean Alpaca mitts in a ribbed for your knitting pleasure while you knit standing up watching your children destroy your living room pattern. The grey looks a bit blah in this photo, but it's the best I could do without daylight.

Speaking of knitting standing up, do you think I could find a fanny pack to retrofit so I wouldn't have to hold my yarn ball under my arm while I walk around with my knitting? I would sit down, I'm usually all about the sitting, but it is so frustrating to sit down and get organized only to have a small person realize you are sitting down doing something that does not relate to them in any way. Once they see you sitting down it is all over, so I've decided to stop trying. It's much easier to referree/assist/herd standing up.

How was your Thanksgiving? Mine turned out rather nice, even if I was miserably sick. Jeremy found some miracle cold medicine ("Woo! I'm flying!") for me and I managed to make it through the day.

Nothing much was expected of me as Jeremy and his mother finished up the cooking. I hung out with my grandpa, one who does not expect much in the way of gay repartee, and we discussed home improvement projects, the airplane he is building from wood with his own arthritic hands, and how much we miss my grandmother.

When I was starting to get a bit of energy back on Sunday I glanced at the boys and realized they were way overdue for a haircut.

See what I mean?

I'm not sure if this is any better, but this is what Brennan D. Snaggletooth looked like after I was done with him.

Next time I should probably leave the bangs, or whatever boys call that front part, a little longer. Also, an offical cape would help. They were going crazy with the itchiness of all the hair that fell behind my unprofessionally draped towel.

I love those mitts, that's just the sort of thing I like. I was a bit taken aback reading your post - 'fanny' means something completely different over here in England. : 0
As a fellow mother of 3 boys ( and one surprise girl), I identify with the need for crafts that can be undertaken whist breaking up fights, or shouting things like " For Godsakes, STOP JUMPING ON THE SOFA ! "

Whoa, I just looked up "fanny" in the British slang dictionary. That, um, changes the meaning just a bit, doesn't it?

Yikes!
