Bearowl

Does it say something about my attitude of late
that when I set out to knit a cuddly little beginner bear from the Knitted Teddy Bear Book, it turns out looking like a pissed off owl librarian?

I didn't spend that much time on this little guy, but I am so in love with this book and I had such high hopes for his cuteness ( baby gift! Christmas ornament!) that I was crushed by the googly eyes, disdainful expression, and somewhat mismatched limbs.

If you haven't checked out this book yet, you really must. I swear the bears in it look nothing like mine - they are adorable and sweet and make you want to knit all of them.

Bearowl says: "Meh, shouldn't you be working?"

In other news, I attempted to take a photo of all three boys while they sat together on the couch watching a football game (the television comes on for Survivor, Amazing Race, Nature, Nova, and any and all football, an odd assortment, I admit). I cannot say that my photography was any more successful than my bearmaking.

Me: "Get your fingers out of your mouth!" " Get your fingers out of your brother's mouth!" "Sit down!" "Stop slouching!" "Stop making that bunny face!" "Put your legs down!" " Stop looking at Daddy/the dog/the television!" "Say cheese!" " Say Mama!" "Look at me!"

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, forget it, I give up!"

I don't suppose I have much of a future as a Sears Portrait Studio Associate, do I?
